Ideal Precast Walls

Our new modular house is going to sit on Precast Concrete Walls from Ideal Precast. The walls are guaranteed waterproof, factory built in panels that are put together on site. They come with insulation already attached and ready to finish from inside with no need for any additonal framing. The first picture is at 9:00 am showing the gravel base that the walls sit on.

The second picture shows the walls sitting on the truck.

The third on shows the crane that lifted the walls and placed them on the gravel.

This last one shows the walls completed at 2:30pm.

Stay tuned for more details on Precast walls and more pictures of the walls.

  1. I was wondering what product you used to weatherproof your Ideal basement walls?

  2. I don’t know. It looks like black tar and it’s the same stuff used on one part of our basement that was not precast. As far as I know these walls dont even need waterproofing but they put that anyway just for extra protection.

  3. Yes very pleased. The walls are insulated well. Our unheated basement is not completely freezing. They made a few minor errors (window hole had wrong kind of framing, beam pockets were incorrectly placed) in the wall upon delivery but nothing that couldn’t be fixed easily on site. We have another separate block basement and that wall is pretty damp. The precast walls are completely dry.

  5. We have hairline cracks on the outside near doors since a few days from the walls being installed and were told that is normal.
